Pastor Evan joined us as our pastor in October 2021 after previously serving as a pastor in central VA and was officially installed in December 2021. Here are some important facts about Pastor Evan:

• Presbyterian through and through

• As he was baptized at a Presbytery meeting, some can say that he was predestined to be a minister

• Entire immediate family are Presbyterian ministers; his father is the Stated Clerk of the Presbytery of Tampa Bay and his mother is the chaplain of Westminster Manor and Jefferson Center, two of the Westminster Communities of Florida.

• Born in Panama while his father was a military chaplain

• After a brief 2 years in Alameda, CA, Evan grew up in St. Petersburg, Florida, where he and his sister attended Maximo Presbyterian Church where his parents originally served as co-pastors. During his time there, he was ordained a ruling elder and served on Session as well as the Worship Team.

• Attended Westminster College in New Wilmington, PA, where he studied Music and Christian Education, and Pittsburgh Theological Seminary in Pittsburgh, PA.

• Following graduation from seminary, he served as the Pastoral Resident at First Presbyterian Church in Muscatine, Iowa.

• Former pastor of Bethlehem Presbyterian Church in Mechanicsville, VA, where he was ordained in March 2019.

• Outside of the local church, Evan has served our denomination in various ways. He has served as a member of the planning team at the 2009 Montreat Youth Conferences; a Theological Student Advisory Delegate to the 222nd General Assembly of the PC(USA); and more recently as a member of the Committee on Preparation for Ministry in the Presbytery of the James.

• Evan also identifies as a church musician. He plays both the flute and piano and has sung tenor in various church choirs as well as in concert choir while in college. Throughout his years of service to the church, Evan has also played in praise teams in the various churches that he has been a part of.

• Ministry passions include but aren’t limited to: Worship leadership and preparation, preaching, congregational song, ministry with young adults, teaching, and providing pastoral care to all ages.

• He is a fan of the Star Trek and Stargate franchises and loves to watch all of the DC superhero television series. As far as sports is concerned, baseball is Evan’s first love and he will always be cheering for his hometown team, the Tampa Bay Rays. He enjoys hiking, swimming, frisbee, and long distance driving, among other things.
